Mary Ellen Dunn

Being a part of LTCPG is special for Mary Ellen—especially now that more women are on board! Talking with people about long-term care insurance is rewarding for her, but what is so great about LTCPG is that the effort is financially rewarded as well. The annual LTCPG conferences are “NOT TO BE MISSED” events. The camaraderie with members and the carrier representatives is unprecedented in her experience. What a fantastic group of people! 

Mary Ellen holds a B.S. in Education from Southeast Missouri State University and an M.A. in Spanish from Washington University-St. Louis. She has over 20 years of experience in education teaching English and Spanish to middle school through college students. Mary Ellen developed Spanish programs for schools and community colleges in Kansas and Missouri. After being a S.T.A.R.R. teacher for the state of Missouri, she worked for three companies serving as a consultant, regional account manager, and vice-president of business development to provide solutions for instructional management, classroom resources, curriculum alignment, and “cutting edge” instructional strategies with state departments of education, community colleges, and school districts. 

In 2000, Mary Ellen became a licensed insurance agent. She joined Michael at Dunn Insurance Services in 2003. Her commitment to long-term care insurance is a result of seeing everything that her parents had worked for all their lives be consumed by the long-term care needs of her mother. With no insurance to provide financial and physical options, her father’s life and lifestyle were drastically impacted. She has dedicated the rest of her life to helping people investigate their options and sensibly manage the long-term care risk. 

Mary Ellen has lived in the Phoenix area since 1997. Her first husband died in 1995, and she and Michael married on January 1, 2000. Between them, Michael and Mary Ellen have three adult married daughters, one married son, and two special granddaughters. Mary Ellen is a member of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, Chapter DE of the PEO Sisterhood, Soroptimist International of Phoenix, Art Renaissance Institute, and the Delta Delta Delta Alumnae Association. She and Michael are active in two BMW car clubs and are season ticket holders for the Phoenix Symphony and Ballet Arizona. Mary Ellen loves music and plays the piano and organ. She also enjoys reading and creative cooking. 

Traveling is another special part of her life. Mary Ellen and Michael try to take one major cruise a year. Their dream is to go around the world. So far, they have been to 78 countries as well as to most of the states in the U.S. Paying for trips is a great incentive for her to continue to work hard.
