With over 20 years of experience as an independent insurance broker, I can still say that I love what I do. It's a pleasure to educate and be of service to my clients in the areas of Long-Term Care and Life Insurance.
I truly believe that the best salespeople are educators and when you treat clients well, they become your marketing force.
I started out as a Series 7 Registered Rep in the 1990’s. Disenchanted with the work environment I quit and started selling health insurance as I went through UC Berkeley’s Extension program in Personal Financial Planning. I’m not a CFP, but I know enough to be dangerous and made some great friends who continue to be terrific referral sources.
Aside from feeling fulfilled from being of service, I enjoy the flexibility of being my own boss. This afforded me the opportunity to work from Seoul, Korea during Covid. In truth, I love learning about different cultures and lived in Japan, Argentina, and Colombia before Korea.
My Argentine Spanish is very rusty, but I toy with studying to become fluent again.
I’ve experienced, firsthand, how Long-Term Care Insurance provides an emotional lifeline and financial cushion for families. My Grandmother had Alzheimer’s and was fortunate to be able to finance her care. That experience was eye opening so when my parents refused to pay for Long-Term Care Insurance, my siblings and I paid the premiums for both parents. My mother was on claim and died with over $200k left in her pool. My father is on claim now and going strong.
Several years ago, I got remarried. What did I buy my husband as a wedding gift? His own LTC policy, of course!
My husband and I have both lived in many places in the US and abroad, but we call Denver home and cannot imagine leaving. One more thing, we are passionate about dogs.
